HOF Score
AllFame's proprietary 0–100 rating that quantifies every active player's probability of Hall of Fame induction.
The HOF Score is AllFame's core metric — a single number between 0 and 100 that represents how strong an active player's Hall of Fame case is right now, updated daily as stats change.
The score is built from five dimensions, each weighted by historical importance in Hall of Fame voting:
Career Value (30%) — measured primarily by WAR (MLB) or Win Shares (NBA), capturing a player's total contribution over their career.
Milestone Progress (25%) — how close a player is to the sacred statistical thresholds that have historically defined HOF induction: 500 HR, 3,000 Hits, 300 Wins for MLB.
Awards & Selections (20%) — MVP awards, Cy Young Awards, All-Star selections, Gold Gloves, Silver Sluggers — hardware that signals peer and media recognition.
Peak Performance (15%) — the best 3–5 consecutive seasons, since the HOF electorate often values brilliance over longevity.
Longevity (10%) — seasons played and career durability, because consistency matters.
Scores are grouped into four tiers: Lock (90–100), On Track (75–89), Borderline (50–74), and Unlikely (0–49).
